From the WTF Watch Desk: East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service welcomed a new wholetime cohort after training in structural fire, road traffic collision, work at height, water rescue, hazardous materials, first aid and breathing apparatus. The graduates now begin station-based service and continued development.
Why this deserves the fire service’s attention
Recruit graduation is the start of competence, not the finish. A broad initial syllabus has to become repeatable performance under supervision, with clear sign-offs and protected mentoring time.
